I just installed Commerce Kickstarter 2, and enabled the Shipping Method Example. I don't see it in admin/commerce/config/shipping.

Since it works for commerce shipping out of the box - this must be an issue related to commerce kickstart

i confirm jsacksick's post (#2). it seems this issue can not be reproduced.
