I'm planning a few new Drupal deployments, so I wonder how far we are from a stable 4.6 release.
At this point, would it be reasonable to base new sites on CVS's 4_6 branch?
Having an estimation about how things are in the 4.6 front would be nice to plan ahead translation updates, etc.

Release candidate
I plan to make a first release candidate available later this week. Drupal 4.6 probably won't be released before March 15th. The HEAD version should be pretty stable nonetheless but you never know.
Splendid
I can't wait. This is good to know. I also have some projects I might try and hold off until 4.6 if it is that close. to download/ use the HEAD version, I image I would just use the latest CVS, but if I am wrong, could someone point my in the direction of the HEAD download.
Thanks
For those looking
A quick search on google for 4.6 shows a collective of the excitement surrounding the pending release: http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Adrupal.org+4.6
I think the big question is offical dates for offical releases... the fetures; which are new, and which are updated.
From a quick scan of all the comments this is what I gather:

Looking foward to it! I am 100% behind Drupal. We are shifting our University, as well as personal businesses in this direction. 4.6 will make it that much easier.
