WHy won't my site show after migrating to GoDaddy account?

I just built a Drupal site on my hosting account (see at annetschider.com/wshsc) and have to migrate it to my client's GoDaddy account (wahealthcaresafety.org).
I moved the files over following the instructions under "Copy your test sit to a live site", but all that comes up on the GD host is their default Drupal front page - it is not seeing my site at all.
I am a novice at this, and so please speak s l o w l y and in English ; ) but I'm hoping there's an easy fix that I'm just not aware of.

your provided information is not enough (at least for me) to determine what is the actual problem.

So I can only guess that since it is showing default drupal front page, there must be something wrong with maybe the actual folder you install drupal (maybe in a subfolder?)

I did a quick inspection and seems the file structure and folder are in order. Did you copy the database from the old site to the new site as well?

If you haven't done that, you can use tools such as backup migrate module to migrate the sql data.

When you move your site from

When you move your site from your current hosting account to Go Daddy on the new domain you will need to update your settings.php file. You will need to update items like the database name, password and host. Note that Go Daddy does not use 'localhost' for the host for databases. You may also need to update items regarding the path in the settings.php file.

tell me more : )

Thank you for your response. In addition to your answer, your being from GoDaddy is helpful because you're familiar, I hope, with how Drupal works there.
Do I just remove the 'localhost' line from settings.php? Also, the site was up and running, finally, on GoDaddy after fixing some issues, but it went down again recently, apparently, from something wrong in .htaccess - however, I made no changes to it since things were up (or ever, really). I changed the name of the .htaccess file, so it comes up now, but things are off visually (colors, and colorbox slideshow broken).
Also, when I migrate the drupal site from the test site to GoDaddy, should I have put the files in the root, or in public_html?
Again, thank you for any help.

Hello, You will use the host

Hello,

You will use the host name given in the Hosting Control Center instead of localhost.

To Find the Host Name for Your Database
1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. Click Web Hosting.
3. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
4. In the Databases section of the hosting Control Panel, click MySQL or MSSQL depending on the database type for which you want the host name.
5. From your list of databases, click Actions next to the database you want to use, and then click Details.

Your database host name displays in the Hostname field.

There was an issue with the "SymLinksIfOwnerMatch" portion of .htaccess files that was resolved yesterday. Try re-enabling your .htaccess and let me know if that works or is there is still an issue with the site not displaying exactly right.

Similar problem

I'm having a similar problem.

I migrated my database, no problem, no errors.
Copied all my files.

Edited my settings.php file using the information found in the mySQL hosting details, as so:

$databases = array (
  'default' =>
  array (
    'default' =>
    array (
      'database' => 'harperandwhite',
      'username' => 'harperandwhite',
      'password' => <hidden>,
      'host' => 'harperandwhite.db.2255717.hostedresource.com',
      'port' => '',
      'driver' => 'mysql',
      'prefix' => '',
    ),

),
);

I get "The system cannot find the path specified." When I try to load the site.

Any ideas?

As jdarrel says it is down

As jdarrel says it is down to the hosting company to ensure the site works (though the number of complaints here about Drupal on GoDaddy might make you doubt they will do the job well). However, this message is not normally what one sees when a Drupal site fails to connect to database. Are you sure there is no other probem, such as the frequent oversight of failing to upload the Drupal .htaccess?

GoDaddy tech support is no

GoDaddy tech support is no help whatsoever. No surprise there.
I ended up telling my client he had to set up hosting somewhere else. End of problem.

Site up, for a while.

This was resolved (had not migrated the databases- as soon as I did it popped right up). However, completely down today though I haven't touched it...
