Migrate content to a field created by "field collection" module, migrated from a "matrix field" that belongs to D6?

Hi there!
Is there a way to migrate content from a matrix field in D6?
(I´ve tried the matrix field upgrade path and won´t work, so I thought that maybe I could use this module instead?).

This is my case:
I have content in a field that has been created using the module matrix fuield, in D6.
When I try the upgrade path it won´t work.
So I thought that I could copy the sql data manually and adapt it to "work" into a field created by this module?
