Separate supported field types as plugins

Currently the field type detection and support is a bit nasty and part of the render process. It could be nice to separate support for different field types as plugins (ctools?) and make the render function cleaner. Not a top priority thingy, but would make the code more beautiful, but more complicated on the other hand aswell.
