Taxonomy term discripion as a formater option

Would it be possible to include taxonomy term descriptions, as part of the formatters options?

for instance, in the formatters drop down list, have the choices:
editable
as link
as text
as term description
as text with term description
as link with term description

I am using content taxonomy as a relationship tagging system, so this would be a huge benefit to better describe the term relevance in the node, in the same way the taxonomy context module can display child terms on term view.
