Recently I 'discovered' CCK and decided to create a 'template' to enter images and links of Australian bird-species (see http://www.aviceda.org/node/197) although it is 'OK' I would like to make the appearance 'nicer' (ie change font and link sizes etc) but I don't know much about CSS, styles and the like.
Can anyone point me to a good, simple reference that will help me with this.
Also I would like to create a 'block' list which shows 'new' content that I've created.....unfortunately I'm a bit lost with Taxonomy, Views etc.

Unfortunately no easy answer here if you don't know css. You need to customize a theme really (http://drupal.org/node/11774).
