uncheck child doesnot remove parent from database table

Hi,
there is a checkbox that says
"Select parents automatically
When turned on, this option causes the widget to automatically select the ancestors of all selected items. In Leaves Only mode, the parents will be added invisibly to the selected value. This option is only valid if an unlimited number of values can be selected."

so if you check all children and save the content, parent is saved automatically - that is good and works as expected, however if you go back and edit the same content, uncheck a child and save again, the parent is not removed from the database.
this is a bug, since all selected items are not selected and upon edit the parent should be removed automatically.
