Apologies if this already exists but couldn't find it.
If I change the title of an existing node, it changes the URL alias to reflect new title and adds 301 redirect to old alias. It also sounds good but how can I stop automatic update of path aliases when I change titles.
There are couple of reasons:
- With new path alias, all Facebook likes on existing node-path are lost
- Not so good for SEO in the short term. Many pages disappear from Google with new path and rarely return back in rankings
Thanks for help in advance.

Dave ReidYour Facebook likes should be using the 'internal' URL of node/nid so that this situation doesn't happen.
To configure Pathauto to not ever 'update' aliases, go to admin/config/search/path/settings and set the 'Update action' setting to 'Do nothing. Leave the old alias intact.'
