group node type not included in vocab node type list in edit

when a new og group vocab is created, it is by default being applied to the default group node type( new group creation). Also, the group node type is not visible in the node type list when editing the vocab. I have disabled og vocab because I am creating groups for clients/companies and do not need to have the vocabulary listed in the new group creation form for every single new client group. It is still creating a vocabulary for new groups even after it is disabled.

running: Drupal 5.2, other modules, will list all if needed.
