After some research on resolutions, pixel densities, and how they affect which image responsive images and styles will load for me, I just want to make sure this module is working the way it's supposed to.
I have three devices I'm testing on.
HTC EVO - 800x400 - pixel density of 217ppi - pixel ratio of 1.5
iPhone 5 - 1136x640 - pixel density of 326ppi - pixel ratio of 2
Samsung Galaxy S3 - 1280x720 - pixel density of 306 ppi - not sure what the pixel ratio is but believe is is 2 as well
On my site, I three prefixes defined: _mobile (default), _narrow (starting at 739px), _normal (starting at 979px). I have three image styles that are associated with these.
I decided to test on all three devices to help myself clarify how all this works with the "Use device pixel ratio" option in the settings turned on or off. Here are my results.
With "Use device pixel ratio" option turned off:
| Phone | Portrait | Landscape |
| HTC EVO | _mobile | _narrow |
| iPhone 5 | _mobile | _mobile |
| Galaxy S3 | _mobile | _normal |
With "Use device pixel ratio" option turned on:
| Phone | Portrait | Landscape |
| HTC EVO | _mobile | _normal |
| iPhone 5 | _mobile | _normal |
| Galaxy S3 | _normal | _normal |
All seems to be working as it's supposed to, with the exception of the iPhone 5 - 1. In landscape orientation with the "Use device pixel ratio" option turned off (would expect to see _normal used), and 2. In portrait with the option checked (would expect to see _normal used).
Would love to hear any ideas you guys have as to what may be causing this. Cache was cleared (drupal and local) each time an option was changed.
Thanks!
Kirk

xaa commentedhello,
any progress on that ?
Here the problem is the view landscape and high density. on the S3 the thumb generated are _normal . Instead of that I need to output _mobile. Any suggestion ?
happy new year :)
