Firstly, this certainly isn't critical... secondly this sounds more like a themeing issue than anything else. Given that you have left little in the way of information, it's hard to say, but I suggest that maybe you should check your page.tpl.php to see if the search form is put somewhere in there expressly, rather than being a "proper" block.
I suspect that this problem has nothing to do with this module.

eikes commentedI agree, it sounds like it has nothing to do with this module. It's probably a theme that has a hard coded login box...
