I'm considering Drupal for a site I run and am looking for a good membership management module. This module should:
- allow a member to pay for his yearly membership online via my merchant account
- remind members when their membership is almost expired and send them an email
- let the admin see who's paid, etc. along with relevant membership info (like mailing address, etc)
- restrict some content based on membership
thanks for your help-

The ecommerce.module has a membership plugin. I've not used it, but I believe it to be the only actively developing module at moment with membership functionality.

CiviCRM
Isn't CiviCRM the key client/constituent/customer relationship management (crm) or -- membership-- module for Drupal? While it's a very large package, it was a fun challenge to install and the interface looks awesome. Two of us tried independently to install CiviCRM 1.8 on Joomla without any success.

I'd forgotten about that script, however and you may be able to answer this, does it cooperate with all other drupal contrib modules? I've read some early threads in which it did not and thus never got around to testing it for functionality or feature set.

I haven't noticed any conflicts with the special profile that I'm trying, though I haven't actually used CiviCRM yet.
Civicrm 1.8
I have found civicrm 1.8 very easy to install with the install script for Drupal 5.x and PHP5 only. Prior versions were a challenge to install. You do need to first create a separate civicrm database with the right permissions.
You don't have to use a
You don't have to use a second database though it's recommended for maintenance purposes.
CiviCRM - trying to install under drupal
Hi - I'm currently trying to install CiviCRM under drupal. Would be interested in sharing information and alternatives with others with regard to client / consituent / customer relationship management software.
I'm also looking at www.phplist.com which handles email list management, but not as strong as we need for relationship management. What are our alternatives?

You may want to look at http://forum.civicrm.org/
Civicrm 1.9 comes with an installer which makes installation very easy for Drupal 5.x
PHP4?
But not work in PHP4 right? Most of my shared hosting company running on PHP version 4. I had downloaded civicrm 1.8 for PHP4, will that easy to install?
