It would be great if I could set my own shortcut keys in addition to be forced to use just ctrl-alt-f.

Some window managers might already use these key-mappings or a user may have mapped these key combinations to something else.

Thanks for your thoughts Bhosmer, this has been in my mind too. I will definitely make this a feature as soon as possible and i'll let you know when it's done.

Would you consider incorporating some of my work here: http://drupal.org/sandbox/bhosmer/1170266 and perhaps adding a button or quick menu link as well?

It's definitely something I will look into when I create configuration options. This module is intended to be the quickest and fastest way to clear cache while developing so if this means by adding a menu link option in the config for people as well as the hotkey then I will definitely try get this added in future versions. Cheers
