Issue #1754164: Always truncate the first 2 and last 2 character when adding new terms reports an error that corrupts data.
People that are downloading and using the beta3-version, will end up with corrupt data.

Can you create a new release beta3, so at least the recommended version does not corrupt data?

Agreed, modules casually leaving major bugs in their recommended release makes a complete mockery of the Drupal release system. 'Beta' or not, recommended releases are supposed to be the ones that are, to the best of the knowledge of the maintainers, suitable for production sites.
