Say I have my affiliate link... but I dont want my aff link to be visible, I want that link to be for example: mysite.com/goto/abc and then it will go to my affiliate link....

I already used something like this with related links module (which are displayed after the body of a node), but I want to use this from anywhere in body of node.

any thoughts?

You can make a jump script like described on this site. http://www.biyw.com/creating-a-jump-script.html

Or you can try some modules from the drupal download section. Two that might do what you want are, Path Redirect and Links Package.

Path Redirect module. http://drupal.org/project/path_redirect

For the from enter a page that does not exist on your site, like trash/google.html

You need to specify the correct redirection code for the redirection.

Then in the to enter where you want "trash/google.html" to go.

For your links just enter page name that do not exist from your list of redirects.

Have not tried Links Package, but you might want to look into it.

Just did some basic research, and most likely because some time has passed, links module seems to be the one to both hide links (http://url.com/goto/site/x/y/z goes to http://whatever.your.linking.to) and enable click tracking as well. Even does link management and allows you to use the same links around your site as you like (and tracks both clicks to the link, as well as where those clicks came from on your site)

I'm trying Links module... but still not clear how to use it... how do you create the links? Do you have to use links related module?
I see that creates a link in the teaser and in full node at the bottom.. but what if I want insert the link inside the node body text ?
