The new FCKeditor 2.5 beta is out and being promoted for general use. Need to find out how well the module behaves and how much (if any) feature access available. Supposedly working with Safari 3 on Mac and PC plus new features.

wwalc commentedCurrently Drupal module uses it's own function to check browser compatibility, so even if you upgrade FCKeditor to 2.5 it wouldn't work on Safari/Opera 9.5.
However the work is in progress and before FCKeditor reach stable status, new version of Drupal module will be released.

it would be great - opera+fckeditor :)

mwpeters commentedIt would be nice to get this into a development version....
The FCKeditor beta has only non critical bugs remaining... looks like just finish clean finish stuff, nothing close to critical or corrupting.
I'm currently using it along with Drupal FCKeditor 5.x-1.3beta on a private development server and haven't run into problems with the current Safari 3.0beta or Opera 9.5alpha.
(I bypassed the module checks to allow this).
So far its been working fine.
I'll report back if I find any problems.

mwpeters commentedSo far I've found the FCKeditor 2.5beta to be quite stable and predictable using IE6 and FireFox 2.0 (using the 5.x-1.3-beta)
Unfortunately while Safari3 and Opera 9.5 are operable, extended use has revealed many quirks and mis-functions. I'll continue to use with IE6 and 7 and Firefox, but am discontinuing use or testing with the other browsers for now.
