Contact Page
We talked about the contact page in relation to the mountain of email that Dries has to go through. It was agreed that it could be revamped to more easily route requests to the appropriate people, and potentially remove some of the processing that Dries has to do. As well, catch-call addresses at Drupal.org would have an auto-reply directly people to support resources and the contact page.
The page itself needs to be reorganized with some explanatory text, and then a form mail added as a child page.
The necessary routings identified were as follows (this would be a "subject" dropdown):
- RFP Submission --> sent to new consultants@drupal.org mailing list; interested developers can subscribe and respond to requests
- Paid Support --> sent to new mail list or more formal ticket system where developers could grab issues
- Security --> security@drupal.org mailing list; also, "locked" security forum for security announcements
- Marketing and PR --> marketing@drupal.org; mailing list for people interested in working on and responding to marketing and PR requests
- Documentation --> drupal-docs
Moshe Weitzman volunteered to help create such a page (although that was before we talked about potentially extending the contact.module to power such a page). Get the Drupal Docs team to help with re-organizing the page.
If we do end up rolling this into the contact.module, then a simple subject to email mapping is needed. Since many other sites don't necessarily have access to mailing lists, the email field should support comma-separated email addresses for sending to more than one address.
