NodeSquirrelNodeSquirrel.com is an offsite Drupal backup service that stores your site's backups safely off of your server and in the cloud. It works natively with both Drupal 6 & 7 and does so by extending the popular Backup and Migrate module -- which we also write, maintain and support. If you have a Drupal site that you want to backup securely and automatically, NodeSquirrel may be just what you're looking for!

NodeSquirrel takes your normal Backup and Migrate backups and sends them to a secure off-server location. All backups travel over SSL and are stored in an encrypted format once they arrive. All of the standard features of Backup and Migrate (automatic schedules, backing up files and database, adding additional AES encryption, etc.) work as normal, which allows you to customize your backups for your needs. Backups are visible from within your Drupal site as well as from the NodeSquirrel management console.

Architecture

NodeSquirrel HomepageNodeSquirrel is made of a number of pieces, all of which have been built with Drupal. The main informational website, API servers and management sites all run Drupal and use a variety of core and contributed modules. The service itself runs on the following modules:

Who We Are

NodeSquirrel is a project of Gorton Studios, a Drupal design and development firm from the Twin Cities, Minnesota. It was originally conceived and architected by Ronan Dowling, lead developer at Gorton Studios and the creator and maintainer of Backup and Migrate. Gorton Studios has been building great Drupal sites for a long time and contributing back to the Drupal community while we're at it. If you want to know more about us and our work, the Gorton Studios website is a good place to find out more.

Free Trials

If this service sounds like it might be a fit for you, we'd love to have you try it out. You get to try the service for 20 backups with a free, no-time-limit, no-credit-card trial. If you like the service and find that it works well for your needs, you can move to a paid plan when (and only when) you're ready.

BADCamp Bonus!

In addition to this posting, we're announcing our launch at BADCamp as well. If you're at BADCamp, please stop by and say 'hi' - we'd love to meet you. We'll be handing out stickers and coupons there but for those of you who can't make it, you can use the coupon code "BADCAMP2012" at checkout to get three months of service for free. The coupon is only good through November 16, 2012, however, so if you're interested, don't delay!

Nice idea! I don't need it for myself (I already have an off-site backup system, using the B&M module!), but I will definitely be recommending this to some of my clients.

Contact me to contract me for D7 -> D10/11 migrations.

Thanks much - we know not everyone is going to need NodeSquirrel - but our hope is that we'll be easy enough to setup and use that we'll make sense for those who don't already have an offsite backup solution in place.

Thanks!

Even if you do have other solutions, I encourage you to try out NodeSquirrel just to see how great it is. I've been using it on a site for a while and am really happy with the way the system works.

Congrats on making it to an open release, guys! This is a really cool service!
