Would it be possible to have an option to include the "Share" link directly into the links (such as "Add new comment" or "Subscribe" etc.)? Currently, it is displayed above the links in a separate line (at least on Garland, Pushbutton, Minelli and my custom made theme), which wastes a lot of space and might give it more prominence that I would like to have it. I am aware that there may be different needs, so have an option to automatically do that would be nice!

You can have the Share link in the links. On the settings page for Service Links down in the fieldset called 'When and how to show the links', set 'Service links in links' to something other than disabled and set 'Service links in nodes' to disabled.
