Extend number of words in comment titles in recent comment block

Recent comments block shows only couple, three, four words and I would like it to show at least one full sentence, or a greater number of words. Is it possible to achieve this goal by some kind of theming without altering the module's code? And if it is not possible to theme, then what exactly I should change in, apparently, comment.module?
