I download and installed the 7.x-2.0-rc1 tar.gz but wanted to get the dev version of 7.x-2.x-dev. I went disabled Media You tube fine, as well as running the uninstall yielded "successful". I went back to modules and media you tube was still listed. I then tried and run the install of Media You tube 7.x-2.x-dev version, which it would not let me because it thinks its still there.
UPDATE: I just tried, dumping a 7.x-2.x-dev build into the Rc1 build modules folder as I read else where that it would fix it possibly... it reinstalled fine, enabled/disabled and ran the uninstall which stated it was successful, but same issue again still listed.

morleman@gmail.com commentedUPDATE: Been working on other web items in the past 6 months since opening this ticket. So have not had the time to do a full new install and test with media_youtube 7.x-2.0-rc2. However, I can say my organization has used media (media_youtube 7.x-1.0-beta3) in a recent website, so I want to lean towards that it was a one time issue I experienced with 7.x-2.0-rc2, perhaps due to other components. I'll post back if it's still and issue.
