Upgrade from Drupal 4.6 to 5.1 and now images do not display

I was using image and image assist with drupal 4.6 and then upgraded to drupal 5.1 and have also upgraded image and image assist to 5.1.5. I have copied all the files (thumbnails, preview and orginal) to the same directory as before. But now the images not do display in the nodes, (a red x in the top right hand corner) but new images display fine when uploaded. Can anyone help with this?

Did you run the upgrade script? Did the portion of the upgrade script that deals with the image module have any errors?

i just added a 5.x-1.6 version of the image module. please give that a try, if it doesn't fix it re-open this issue.

If this is the same problem as mine, upgrading to 5.x-1.6 won't fix it unfortunately. Or at least it didn't for me.
I went from 4.7 to 5.3 without moving the images directory at all, and my images don't work either
