I have posted a list of my banned users on my website.
They've all been banned for posting comment links to viagra/oxycodone/polo or anything else that has nothing to do with my site content. Its a small list because I operate a small site but I think if we all could post these lists and then aggregate them together we may be able to combat spamming more efficiently. If something like this has already been done, please point me to the module.

Spam makes website ineffective
I am really interested in human access to my website but I never can see anything useful due to all the robotized access.
I refer to the Recent Hits report.
I have setup a robots.txt on my website and this has stopped the bots from polluting my website.
I have stopped the registration option because I don't need it.
I still see a lot of useless access from all kinds of IP addresses (lots of hits all in the same minute).
I have tried to block them but new ones pop up all the time.
See example below.
Question: what do I have to do to stop (or not record) robots or people who are just playing with my site.

access logs are what they are. there is no way to tell the difference between a user "playing" with your site and browsing it.
your server likely has a stats script that can be used and in conjunction with google analytics you should be able to gain much greater insight into your traffic.

IMO this post belongs in the general discussions forum, not news and events.
Wow thank you. That looks
Wow thank you. That looks promising. Will implement and let you know how it works for me.
Still keeping the link to spammers ;) --- a little public shaming.
