title module replacing title gives error message

Title (title_field) field requires the Text field widget provided by text module

this happened on a clean install
text module was by default enabled already

replace link was still present in the fields config page
but it would not allow me to create title_field because it was already in existence

finally I realized that after cleaning all cache the message was gone and replace link dissapeared
