Comments do not display properly in Panels

Hi all,

When I add a pane "Node being viewed comments" in my Panels page, the original theme formatting of the comments is lost.
This is a shame, because I like the original styling of the comments.

I guess I could re-style the comments with css, but I don't know how to do it, and I think it should, by default, keep the original style. The result is not affected by any "style" I choose for my panel or pane.

Also, when I look at the css style in the browser, it has the "even and odd" and other styles, but they are not displayed.

Is this a "feature" or a bug? How can I re-enable the original style?
