I noticed that the date format is hard coded.
It should follow the site settings.

At which place do you want it to follow the site format?

When creating an event, the user needs to enter the start date and end date. The format for entering this information is not following the site configuration.

Event for Drupal 8 is unrelated to older versions. If an issue similar to this one exists, please open a new issue with the 8.x branch.
