improving my front page

hi, in new here and looking for some help

i got the module "front page" instaled in my drupal 5.2

i got two problems to solve:

1) i got the front page html code configured to show ONLY a jpg image. how to do the jpg fit exactly the window, with out white border?

2) for the anonymous user, i want to show only the background image and the left column, without anymore

some help here, please... ?
