Views + Private Nodes not compatible?

Description
It seems that setting a node to private and then creating a view that lists those nodes still displays the node.
For example, make user profiles viewable to buddies only (using private nodes) and enable "access user profiles" permission for anonymous users, and then create a view that displays a teaser list of all user profiles.
Goto that view as an anonymous user and, sure enough, the teaser view of all user profiles are displayed.
