Comments by visitors: contact details

general need - October 16, 2007 - 15:45

I allow anonymous visitors to post comments, but they are required to leave an email address.

What then? As Admin, I approve the comment, it appears in the content (with a not verified flag next to the anon users chosen name). But as Admin, how do I see the email address left by the user? I fail to see the point of having an option forcing an anon user to provide an email address if Admin can’t even find it, let alone verify the anon user.

What basic function am I missing?

Yes you can

Go to a comment left by a guest user, and then if you are logged in as user 1 you should be able to see "Delete", "edit", "reply" - click on edit and then at the top of the edit page your should see "Administration" click on that and voila, there is the guest's email address!
