I tried this module only to realize it wasn't quite what I wanted. However, when I uninstall it, the teaser fields remain on the nodes - even ones where I've made no changes to the default option. This is made even more problematic by the fact that the teaser field is actually above the title field and its position cannot be changed. Thanks.

I don't see how this problem is related to this module. This module doesn't create or manage any fields--it just allows you to control how a node displays. If you don't want the field anymore, I suppose you can delete it.
