Pfolk and I (mostly pfolk) have created patches in this thread (http://drupal.org/node/144098) that port the family module over to 5.x, enable importing, and have fixed the relationship database. Pfolk has additional features planned, and we would both like to be able to commit our changes so that others can download and begin using this module.
We would like to request to have these changes committed, and to take over maintainer status if you are no longer interested. I would like to be the primary maintainer and pfolk would like to be the secondary. I'm requesting your verbal permission as suggested in the CVS application form (http://drupal.org/cvs-account) and in the CVS Application guidelines (http://drupal.org/node/59). Please let us know how you would like to proceed.
