private message module: How to take away the "write new message" link under "my messages" page

I am using the Private Message Module and am trying to take away the "write new message" link/option under the "my messages" page.

I still want users to be able to send messages to each other. However, I want the option/link to send the messages to be attached to another piece of content/node only.
