When candidates are elected there could be an option to hide unelected candidates and/or mark the entire election as 'finished'.

pjcdawkins commentedIt would probably make sense to have Defeated too.
Candidates should have both a status and a 'published' property (known as 'status' for some entities, which is confusing).

pjcdawkins commentedPatch attached of current state. BTW this means 'approving' a candidate is no longer a significant action, since an approved candidate may or may not be published. So it makes sense to remove the Rules event 'After a candidate is approved'.
