I just downloaded and updated to the latest (and only) version of the module and it still shows the 8/22 date in the "Available Updates" page. Also, there's mention of a readme.txt file in one of the other issues, and there is none. Looks like there's a mismatch in cvs somewhere. Thanks.

It looks like I accidentally tagged some files as DRUPAL-5--2. For some reason I can't delete the tag, but hopefully I'll tag a stable release soon to get around this.
