Issue Summary
Which goes to an "access denied" page. The link shouldn't appear.

How about if the link is present and takes anonymous users to login/register? Having the link present educates visitors that they can "create a post" if authenticated.

redirecting to login/register is a better idea than just not showing the link.

It is not a bone for them to fetch so to speak, if it were then for anonymous users it should change to Join or Join Group, otherwise hide it.
This is kind of related so I thought I'd track it here.

@Topcheese - Commons eliminates the need to join a public group before first contributing content. Thanks for noting the related issue.
