This information is displayed under the "Your Invitations" tab:
Pending: The invitation has been sent, but your friend has still not accepted the invitation. You may send a reminder, by clicking the 'Remind Me' link.

What is this remind me link? I have never seen it anywhere. And, how do I remove that line? I don't want that showing since there is on such link (at least that I know of)

The text can be customized on the invite settings page (admin/user/invite) in the group Invite page customization.

Or you could try the patch that adds the remind button.
