I find myself right clicking 'overridden' and copying the link, opening a new tab with the address and then adding /diff on the end and loading it in a new tab.

A link would be nice for any state that IS NOT 'default'.

BONUS:
I also wouldn't mind if this link was shown before ajax finishes checking my features for their state seeing as how I usually have a good idea which features have been overridden and am now loading the diff URLs via memory/brain.

BONUS BONUS:
An AJAXified link at the bottom of the feature list to load a diff for all features (as applicable). This would solve the above problem.
I need this information to know if I can revert all features or need to recreate some.

You might want to try the Features Override module for improved display of the Overridden information. It also adds the Override tab no matter what the state of Overridden features are.

That module looks promising but doesn't work. Logged an issue (http://drupal.org/node/1853718)

One tab to rule them all would also be a nice solution.
