The book Pro Drupal 7 Development - become a drupal developer

Hi,

I'm a new PHP developer .
I wrote one app in php & mysql and what to go and start learning a framwork .
So i choose drupal as my PHP framwork, i leared how to use the drupa CMS and here modules.
i want to ask, if i will do all the example modules in the book 'Pro Drupal Development'

Will it make me a Senior drupal developer?
A mid-size drupal developer?
Or just a begginer ?

it depends on how well you grasp the concepts and the api

and don't buy that version of the book if you are working with Drupal 7. There is a newer version for D7.

IMO they are fairly uncomplicated modules in the book. What they do is introduce you to the hook system and the drupal api which is far more expansive than any one book can deal with full.

no idea how or if it's possible to quantify it that way. Some three year olds learn faster than 4 year olds. Hell, some three year olds learn faster than 40 year olds.

have you looked at api.drupal.org? have you written your own module? if so; is it a hook_form_alter or a module with bells and whistles? have you learned how to implement any javascript? deal with variables? utilize preprocess functions?

The level of developer you are is not defined by what you read. It's defined by what you can do with the information you've read, , comprehended, and can apply .... correctly.

If you're looking to become a senior developer quickly? I'm not sure that happens to anyone. experience isn't gained from a book. Concepts are gained from a book. Experience is gained from doing.
