drupal render function issue

Hi All,

I have an issue where I want to open a node(field collection part only) in edit mode , I am trying open it using render function in edit mode, and it is opening fine, but changes I am doing is not getting saved on it, so do any body have any idea why this is happening.

Editing field collection item of node with render function

Hi All

any idea how to achieve that,

I have to make give field collection item editable functionality on node,
and for that I am using render function, now it is giving me delete and edit button, and I am able to
delete that but I am not able to edit items, though it is taking me to edit screen and also after saving message is displayed that node has been saved, but actually field collection item is not saved.

I guess this is not the issue of permission as if it would be, than it would display no permission to edit instead of save.

Any help would be heartly appreciated.
