Jquery script for home page only

Hello, I am trying to run a jquery script in the homepage of the Tao theme for Drupal 6, to do that I added the necessary code in page.tpl.php and it display the script very well on the homepage but also in others pages of the site, unfortunatley I dont have the option to create a custome template for the homepage since this is a production site, is there any code that I can use to dsplay this peace of code only on the front page? Any suggestion would be welcome, thank you.
