Adding Parties

The usual way to manually add a new party is to navigate to party/add, select the Hats the party should have a click save. Once the party has been create with the correct hats you can click edit to edit the fields on the party and its data sets.

Is there an easier way?

We realise that the above workflow will often be unsuitable to end users; in many cases they will have no need to understand what hats are and often it is more desirable to keep a Party's hats out of their control. Never fear, an easier solution is at hand!

We've included some short-cut paths in the party_hat module to make the process of adding a party easier. If you want to add a party with the 'person' hat you can simply navigate to party/add/person. This path creates a Party with the hats pre-selected and displays a form with all the correct fields ready to be populated.

This allows site-builders to very easily create 'Add Contact' or 'Add Student' links on their site. Just create a link to www.mydrupalsite.com/party/add/hat_machine_name.

You can also do this for parties with more than one hat selected by separating the hat machine names by a '+'. For example:
