I'm using this theme as a starting point to create a custom theme for a small SEO page because it's so simple.
In my case no sidebar navigation for guest is needed, even though I have added the left sidebar region because it's useful for the admin back-end navigation. But for people new to drupal it might be confusing that the navigation disappears after enabling the theme.
I suggest to add more regions to theme, at least the left sidebar region.

Mind submitting a patch for that left sidebar?

np, after I finish these SEO pages, but the client is still torturing me with changes ;-)
Also to give something back to the community, I think I'm going to submit a version of the modified theme, which is looks totally different from webchicks theme by now...
