Does anyone have any idea how we might go about creating a service similar to MyBlogLog.com with Drupal?

(Not so much the stats services, but primarily the social aspects of MyBlogLog.) I've thought that maybe Organic Groups could be used to create a page for every site that wanted to connect; and then maybe some additional external coding to create widgets that site owners could put on their pages to feed the number of subscribers to their site.

Has anyone done this before? Does anyone have any different or additional ideas in this regard? My thanks in advance --

Might be just a dumb thought, but Drupal 6 is integrated with OpenID and maybe they have all the avatars and connections (social aspects) similar or superior to Yahoo's MyBloglog

So maybe OpenID thingy is something that we can benefit from
