Transfer ownership of Kenya group

This might be the best route to take rather than create a new group. If indeed it can happen please get it done for us.

I've started the abandoned group process to confirm it's abandoned: http://groups.drupal.org/node/39596

Specifically, I posted this discussion: http://groups.drupal.org/node/271023 and also contacted the current group owner.

If there's no response on that in 2 weeks, we can transfer ownership to nandwabee.

If new ownership means there will be more activity then thats fine with me.

I agree. What can we do to make the group active?

I think the first step to making the group active is opening membership. Under current policies, nandwabee can do that in 2 weeks. I'm interested in changing those policies to speed up cases like this where it seems clear the current organizer isn't interested, but a policy change isn't likely in the next 2 weeks.

I tried to request membership a couple of years ago and have never gotten a response.

If people have already tried to contact the owner more than 2 weeks ago, I think that qualifies the group as abandoned, so I transfered ownership to nandwabee.

nandwabee, I'd encourage you to change the group membership from moderated to open, and also to add at least one more organizer to help keep the group active when you're unavailable.

I also deleted the group at /drupal-kenya and merged that into the /kenya group.
