I am creating a website and need to deliver the ability to play multiple
videos in a video gallery and in a node setting and would like to utilize 1
player for consistency. I really like the mediafront module and have been
testing it for each of these usecases. More details for each desired usecase
is listed below:
A video gallery with each video being its own node. The videos in the
gallery must be able to support and utilize playlists . Additionally, the
videos in the gallery must be able to be displayed as a grid with multiple
mini players on the same page. I was able to accomplish this using the
mediafront module with OSM player and the grid view in Views and all works
perfectly. Thank you for the excellent documentation and video
presentations!! Can you please advise whether there is colorbox
integration support for this scenario?
Ability to display and play multiple videos on a node (such as news or
blog content items); would also like for the node videos to be integrated
with colorbox if possible. I tried to utilize mediafront osm player for this
scenario but was not able to get it to work successfully as it appears from
my testing that the osm player only supports one player on a node and only
supports playing one video per node. Can you please confirm this? Can you
advise is the osm player will support multiple players and videos on 1 node?
As an alternative, tried using minplayer to accomplish this as well and have
come up with these results:
Straight MinPlayer Use; No Colorbox
Configuration:
Formatter: MediaPlayer
Width: 200px ; Height: 150px
Results:
The actual display of the player is larger than the selected width/height,
but the display inside the player is the width/height selected. The results
on the node details page vary according to browser; On IE, the videos do
play, but if use fullscreen mode then back to smallscreen, an empty black box
appears above and below the actual video and then the controls are placed in
the black box below the video. On Chrome, the black boxes and issues with
controls are displayed by default even before a video is played. On Firefox,
only the controls are displayed; no picture or video can be seen; as if it is
only the audio player. Can you please confirm this behavior or do you have
suggestions on how these can be resolved?
MinPlayer With Colorbox
Modules Used: Media 2.x; Colorbox 2.x, Media Colorbox; MediaFront
Configuration:
Using Minipanel
Formatter: Media Colorbox
Full View Mode: Colorbox Teaser
MediaPlayer
Width: 200px ; Height: 150px
Colorbox View Mode: Colorbox
MediaPlayer
Width: 800px ; Height: 600px
Results:
I am able to get the teaser or preview size in the node just perfectly and
the preload of the video works perfectly as well; however the videos will not
play. When selecting the link to play, the colorbox opens with the video and
again the size and preload of the video works perfectly but again, the videos
do not play; I am also able to move between videos in the colorbox, but they
just do not play. This behavior is consistent across IE, Firefox, and
Chrome.
This is my desired configuration. Can you please advise on why the videos
may not be playing? Am I missing something? Is this configuration
supported.
Can mediafront osm player and/or minplayer accomplish these? What do you
think the best module or modules or configuration would be for these
usecases? Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Melissa
