User profile not editable after creation

(maybe it's not code as component, but I had to choose one)

Problem:
After completing the User Profile information, the user isn't able to update his profile fields.

Used: nf_registration_mod, account_types, setup is ok, when I create a user, in the drop down list I can check the type, user is created, I can enter the information once logged in and the information is stored in the content type.

Problem, when the user goes to My Account, clicks edit, afterwards the Content Type, he can submit, shows up - Changes has been saved, but nothing is saved to the profile fields.

When you use the link directly in the menu, you can change the user information. It seems that the page shown in the Edit/Content type of the My Account page isn't the same as the page directly linked by the menu item of the content type. Why? When I enable the Preview button, only when I access the page directly via the menu, the preview button is shown, not when you use the Edit/cotent type from the user/x/edit/contenttype page.

Url's involved:

Via the My Account, Edit, Content type I come up with:
user/5/edit/compprof
and when I direct click on the content type link in the menu:
compprofile

The first doesn't save, the secondone saves correctly.

How can I include, change the link in the My Account page so the user can Edit his own information? (I gave the correct Access Rights, Create and Edit Own content type).

Hopefully someone has an idea why this is happening.

ps: I replied with more or less the same info on a request for version 5.x-1.0 (but this was before I did a clean install, and now I'm sure I followed everything stated in the Readme file.
