Looking for "extra content" module suggestions...

Hi there,

I've been hunting the module list for a while now and am having trouble finding what I need. Was wondering if any of you might have suggestions.

I've got a site with a fair amount of reading. Each page or article contains a little panel on the right hand side which is titled "Related reading".

I've found a few "related content" modules, but they work in a particular way, mostly analyzing the content and comparing it with keywords found across the rest of the site.

However, I wish my related reading panels to be entirely manually added. Here are my requirements:

- Each panel has 2 (or more) related links snippets.
- Each snippet contains the title of the suggested article, the location in the navigation hierarchy, a thumbnail image and a teaser sentence.

Does anyone have a module they'd suggest as being able to suit me here?

Would really appreciate any advice you could give...

sounds like you want to investigate the views.module and create specific lists.

documentation about views to see if its right for you, found in handbooks -> contributed modules -> views

thanks verymisunderstood.

i'm not sure how easy that will be to understand for the client. will that then split out the content into two main sections where they either edit the related reading panels or the actual content?

views.module is a query builder allowing the developer to create lists. Lists can be added to pages or blocks.

content is edited the same way you do it now, by viewing the full node and clicking on the edit tab. Views.module does not change the content, it only creates lists of content. Once you, the developer, set ups the lists using views and turns them into blocks. The client, has nothing to do with views.
