On Drupal.org, I regularly see spam posts - and have no way to report them. Why don't we have some sort of report function to deal with this?

Hi Jaypan, you can report
Hi Jaypan, you can report them in the Webmasters Issue Queue:
http://drupal.org/project/issues/webmasters
Open a new issue and choose "spam" for the Component. Link to the specific post and perhaps the user as well. Spammers usually get dealt with pretty fast once reported.

I think you would find more
I think you would find more reports if you added a 'report' button to posts. It's a fairly standard feature on websites. Adding extra steps between seeing the spam and reporting it is likely to result in less reports, and more spam. As this Spam is no good for DO, I would think you guys would want to make it as easy to report as possible.
In all honesty, I don't seem myself bothering to try and dig for the queue each time I see spam, I'll probably just ignore it (or anti-spam it as I sometimes do).

There's actually been a lot of work
There's actually been a lot of work around this issue done already and some long standing issues, see these:
#226678: Add a "Report spam/abuse" link to forum/issue comments (next to the "edit" & "reply" links).
#1694494: Install Mollom on Drupal.org
#1378456: Install Spam module on drupal.org
#1293186: Spam - meta: better spam-combating suggestions
#1759272: Test honeypot module on http://drupal.org

Thanks for the links, I'll
Thanks for the links, I'll read through them.

I have to say that I'm really
I have to say that I'm really surprised that this isn't a bigger priority to the Drupal.org webmasters. When I see spam, I regularly make a post after it along the lines of 'the above is spam'. And I regularly come across the posts I've made weeks later, and the spam is still there.
Making users jump through hoops to report spam is just asking to not have users report spam - case in point is the fact that I never jump through the hoops, because I don't want to have to go through the hassles.
Seriously, I could (and have) built a report button with a backend in 2-3 hours. Adding the bureaucracy of Drupal.org behind it, it shouldn't take more than 2-3 weeks. I've been on Drupal.org for near six years - and still no report button.
Sloppy.
Edit: I just looked through the first link provided earlier - it was started in 2008, and there is still no report button. I'd be a little ashamed if I was one of the folk behind DO. You guys can't get something as simple as a spam report button done in five years?! Governments are more efficient.

The "you guys" on drupal.org is all of us
@Jaypan - The "you guys" on drupal.org is all of us so there is no notion of "we and you."
Anyone is allowed to contribute just as you have already judging from a quick look-see at your profile page. If you can come up with a solution, then certainly start a Sandbox and bring it to the webmasters attention.
I think this tweet says it all about drupal:

But there are obviously
But there are obviously webmasters for DO, or there wouldn't be a webmaster's queue. I know I don't have the permissions to handle the back-end of the queue, so there is more to it than 'us', there is a 'them'. After all - who applies the patches? Who decides when a change is integrated into the site? It's by no means a pure democracy, and there are most definitely people who aren't the same as any old contributor.
And in my opinion, they've dropped the ball. It's pure sloppiness. I'm happy to contribute to the Drupal project (and have in the past), but DO is different from the Drupal project.

Actually, no. It works pretty much the same way. Webmasters are nothing more than community members that have a history of contributing. And they also don't generally have perms to any code or infra unless they are also part of the infra team. I had the same initial reaction to this post but gave you the benefit of the doubt because of all your contributions.
The point remains... The best way to push this issue forward is to creat a patch and champion it rather than waste time in the forums (where no one from infra is likely to see it anyway ) and call the other volunteers "sloppy" because they've contributed their time to other things you don't find as important.
I'm building it then. Pointer
I'm building it then. Pointer to where I can start?

I'm fairly certain drupal.org uses the standard forum with little if any changes so I would think you could simply create a local dev site and create a patch against that. it's currently d6 atm but the d7 upgrade is well in the works so you might as well work for d7.
Then, since the other issues are about fighting spam in general, i'd probably reopen #226678: Add a "Report spam/abuse" link to forum/issue comments (next to the "edit" & "reply" links). with your patch attached and go from there. I've followed that post so I can help with review and testing!
Thanks WF. I'll get going on
Thanks WF. I'll get going on that over the next few days.

I always say "put up or shut
I always say "put up or shut up". I put up two months ago, with nary an acknowledgement of my efforts. So now I'm back to saying this is sloppy.
