Is there a way instead of adding people to OG, to invite them? At this point, members are added to OG if someone added them without having a choice to "accept or deny" membership.

This module is to invite site non members. I needed an option "deny" and "accept" invitations from site members

That would not do it for two
That would not do it for two reasons:
1) It does not specify that it will allow the user to accept or reject being a member to that OG
2) There is no D7 version
